When there is a new arrival in the family, it is important to remember not to focus all the attention on the new born baby and neglect other siblings. Depending on their age, they may struggle to accept their new brother or sister if they are used to being the only child. Especially if in the early stages, when the new baby is being visited by friends and family alike, all bringing gifts and showing them with attention.
This is why it is probably a good idea to treat siblings, so they do not feel left out. It does not have to be an expensive gift, but just a little something to make them feel special too. Perhaps a momento to help them remember the occassion when they first met their little brother of sister!

Over Protection?

I have to admit it, I think I am quite an over protective parent. As my baby grows up I want to do everything within my power to make sure they do not hurt themselves. Therefore I was very excited when I saw that you can now buy a helmet to protect your toddlers head when they fall over.

Now I understand falling over is part of life. However a young child is more likely to fall over more often when learning to walk, therefore I think this invention is practical and very useful during this stage of your babies development.

What a great idea this is- an adaptor to attach a baby bottle nipple to any water bottle with a screw top opening! Now it may seem simple but I imagine this is not something which every parent thinks about when they are leaving the house. Unexpectedly they might find their little one is thirsty for a drink and there is not a baby store in sight.
With this little gadget in your handbag you can go to the nearest store, purchase an ordinary bottle of water and there you go, problem sorted! This will be ideal for day trips when you are out and about in the summer.

Stop your baby scratching!

If you have ever suffered from eczema before, then you will understand the uncomfortable feeling it can cause. It is really difficult as a parent to prevent the sore areas from getting any worse. However I have found the perfect product for my baby in order to break the scratching and itching cycle.

Scratch sleeves are mittens which you can put on your child to help prevent them causing more damage. They appear to be better than most mittens or socks due to the fact the sleeve stays on the babies arm and it is alot more difficult for them to riggle out of!

No time to rock your baby to sleep?

Rocking your baby to sleep can be a laborious task especially if you have a million and one things that need doing at the same time. Luckily a gadget has been invented which can do the job for you. The Lolaloo can be easily attached to the handle of a babies push chair and it will gently rock your child to sleep. As you probably know, it can take some time for a baby to settle again once they have woken up. This tool allows you to get other things done whilst your child is settling. It is small and light weight gadget which can be used anywhere you may need it. Sometimes its getting a helping hand with the simple tasks in life which help the most!

Racing babies!

Whilst I have been looking for a gift for a friend of mine who has just given birth I have come across all sorts of weird and wonderful ideas. However there was one in particular which caught my attention and I just had to buy them for her.

They are the wind up racing babies! You get two cute little cherrubs in the pack, and the idea is to wind the babies up, place them on a flat surface and whoever crawls the furthest in the fastest time wins!

This appealed to me as it is a little bit of fun for “Mum” not just the little ones! Hours of fun to be had for very little expense!

Naturally when you are expecting a new born baby is it neccesary to stock up on essentials such as baby suits.

On looking online there is a fantastic variety to choose from. I also found out some interesting information about babies and how they are unable to control their body temperature within the first 2 years of their life. As a result soemone has gone and invented a baby suit which turns a different coulour when the babies temperature goes above 37C.

I think this is a great idea, and could help new parents know when their child is too warm.

The suits are available in differnt colours and turn white when the babies temperature goes higher than room temperature.

Cutting babies nails- no problem!

I am relatively new to the baby world, however I am astounded by the number of baby products available to the new mum. Having a baby is obviously a wonderful occassion and an amazing experience in a womans life. However it can also be a very stressfull time when a new Mum worries about all the aspects of motherhood and how to cope. There is no need to fear though as are plenty of devices which have been made to make being a new parent alot easier. Something I had certainly not thought of yet was clipping the babies nails. I can imagine that this must be a very difficult task, particularly if the baby does not keep still for very long. Luckily there are products out there which help with these things. Some even have lights on them so you can see what your doing! I know i would not stuggle, and instead use a tried and tested product!
